	Matador FC was originally founded in Santa Monica in 2001 by employees of Towers Perrin, a global professional services firm, and was known orginally as "TP UNITED" until gaining sponsorship in 2007 from BALLA POWDER ("are your boys dry?") and @ RADICAL media.  The team began in the Los Angeles Municipal Soccer League's "First" division, winning the championship. The squad then won titles and advanced through the "Minor/Major" and "Metro" divisions, ultimately spending two seasons in the "Super Metro" before coming to the LAPL in 2004.  They have since added two more championship stars to their badge.
